چکیده

A compressible Hybrid Lattice Boltzmann Method solver is used to perform a wall-resolved Large eddy simulation of an isothermal axisymmetric jet issuing from pipe and impinging on heated flat plate at Reynolds number 23 000, Mach 0.1, impingement distance two diameters. The flow field statistics, Nusselt profile (including the secondary peak), shear stress were well reproduced. azimuthal coherence primary vortical structures was relatively low, leading no discernible temporal periodicity azimuthally averaged location peak. While local unsteady near-wall separation observed in wall jet, this did not exhibit found be only cause thermal spots blue, which lead peak number, as stream-wise oriented also played significant role increasing heat transfer.

A large eddy lattice Boltzmann simulation of magnetohydrodynamic turbulence

Large eddy simulations (LES) of a lattice Boltzmann magnetohydrodynamic (LB-MHD) model are performed for the unstable magnetized Kelvin-Helmholtz jet instability. This algorithm is an extension of Ansumali et al. [1] to MHD in which one performs first an expansion in the filter width on the kinetic equations followed by the usual low Knudsen number expansion. These two perturbation operations d...

A novel boundary condition for the simulation of the submerged bodies using lattice boltzmann method

In this study, we proposed a novel scheme for the implementation of the no-slip boundary condition in thelattice Boltzmann method (LBM) . In detail , we have substituted the classical bounce-back idea by the direct immersed boundary specification . In this way we construct the equilibrium density functions in such a way that it feels the no-slip boundaries . Therefore , in fact a kind of equili...

Simulation of Channel Flows Using Thermal Lattice Boltzmann Method

A thermal lattice Boltzmann method (TLBM) is used for analysis of flow and heat transfer in two-dimensional channels. Simulation results are presented for thermal Couette and thermal Poiseuille channel flows. Analytical solution for temperature field in hydraulically and thermally developed flows are used to verify the current TLBM results. The method is further applied to study the forced conv...

Implicit Large Eddy Simulation of Flow in a Micro-Orifice with the Cumulant Lattice Boltzmann Method

Abstract: A detailed numerical study of turbulent flow through a micro-orifice is presented in this work. The flow becomes turbulent due to the orifice at the considered Reynolds numbers (∼104). The obtained flow rates are in good agreement with the experimental measurements. The discharge coefficient and the pressure loss are presented for two input pressures. The laminar stress and the genera...

Numerical Simulation of Fluid Flow Past a Square Cylinder Using a Lattice Boltzmann Method

The method of lattice boltzmann equation(LBE) is a kinetic-based approach for fluid flow computations. In the last decade, minimal kinetic models, and primarily the LBE, have met with significant success in the simulation of complex hydrodynamic phenomena, ranging from slow flows in grossly irregular geometries to fully developed turbulence, to flow with dynamic phase transitions. In the presen...
